It is possible to create a script so that one Checkbox or Radio Button will check or incheck one or more Check Boxes, but I would advise you to think through if that is the interface you really want. Products that don’t provide the full set of features by default provide the user the opportunity to upgrade. Radio Buttons by definition should uncheck other buttons in the group. So you must first have a text field to see what options there are. This version will only convert the first 10 text fields on the first page to check-boxes.

A free demo version of this script is available here.
Its also possible to match a certain field name.
Values should normally be unique (in later versions this is not required, but traditionally identical values were linked, now that is optional)Ĭheckboxes are a single question that will have a value if checked.Ĭalculations can be done in text fields. With this script you can automatically convert all form fields of a certain type to another type, in the entire document or on a specific page. The Radiobutton group will send the Value of the checked option to process the form. In Acrobat the label or text next to the radio button can be whatever you like. The value is the answer, and the label is where you put the text. In Radio Buttons The name is always the group name. If I uncheck box 2, then boxes 3 and 4 become unfilled along with 2. If I check box 4, boxes 1-3 become filled. I thought I saw something about being able to do calculations in the Actions tab, but can't seem to find that again.ģ)Lastly, is it possible to program radio buttons/check boxes to fill previous check boxes in an ascending fashion, and unfill check boxes ahead of it when a previous one is unchecked? Once I check that box, it fills the field with the number 1, and the other field becomes 6. Say I have one check box fill a field with the number 1, and another field has a 5 in it. Is that the group name or the name of the check boxes? How do you also give it a different export value?Ģ)I'd like my radio buttons/check boxes to fill a text field with a number, then have that number added to another number in another text field to calculate them together. This is also my first time using Acrobat, so sorry if I seem a bit dumb.ġ)I know radio buttons are unfillable, so someone said give check boxes the same name with different export values. The user can then simply tick the pages they want to print and then print them all with a single click.I have a few questions about radio buttons and check boxes. With this script you can automatically add a check-box to each page of your file, as well as a Print Selected Pages button. Sometimes you want to allow the reader of your file to easily select which pages they want to print out of it. And if an older version is used the tool will attempt to print out the pages in as few print commands as possible by grouping the selected pages into ranges. If Acrobat or Reader XI are used all of the pages will be printed out in a SINGLE print command, not one by one. You select the pages just like before (using the added check-boxes) and then click a menu item that tool adds under Tools - Add-On Tools, and the selected pages are extracted to a new file.Īlso improved is the mechanism that prints out the pages. In the first example of the sample file a check box is used to display a set of fields for entering additional info. When checked, some other fields are made visible and when unchecked the fields are hidden. Probably the simplest case for setting field visibility is a single check box.
